Color Me's MCP support connects the admin panel to AI — it does not make the storefront walkable
An MCP headline doesn't mean “our store is agent-ready.” What got connected is the admin panel, not the storefront.
On March 9, 2026, GMO Pepabo launched a remote MCP server (“AI Connector”) for Color Me Shop — the first among Japanese EC cart services — letting store owners automate product listing and order checks through AI chat (sources: GMO Pepabo press release, Mar 9, 2026, Netshop Impress, Mar 2026).
MCP is the back door; shoppers come through the front
MCP (Model Context Protocol) safely connects AI to external services. Color Me's connector links the store's admin side — listings, orders, data. Real progress for operations, but a shopping agent does not enter through the admin panel. Like a human, it walks in the front: signup, browse, cart, checkout.

So “MCP-enabled” does not mean “sellable to agents.” Storefront barriers — form labels, CAPTCHA, guest checkout — remain however automated the back office gets. What actually happens at a Color Me storefront is collected in the Color Me playbook and the barrier ID catalog.
Findable is not buyable
